Alex Katz’s Cut-Outs

Nathalie Du Pasquier’s exhibition reminds me of Alex Katz’s cut-outs. Both showed a similar way of thinking about space. Alex Katz presents his painting in a 3 dimensional way. The absence of the background has giving each work a feeling of restraint and at the same time, the openness of layering. Similarly, Nathalie Du Pasquier’s works are not only engaging with each other but also interacting with the background.
