After our discussion in class, I was very intrigued by the illusions that we can create in our designs through the use of negative space. I found an article that explores the benefits of using this technique and also provides some more pictorial examples of it. I feel that we can effectively use negative space to improve the aesthetics of our design while also subtly hinting at essential ideas that we want to highlight. While reading about negative space design I also found out that the way individuals perceive the illusion in front of them i.e. which part of the image they choose to view as positive and negative space can be used as a way of conducting psychological tests. Learning more about this technique can also help us create some fun studies for our current project!
