Ligature

Ligature is defined “a  thing used for tying or binding something tightly.” Tauba Auerbach is able to embody this word in her stamp drawings. The curvature and varying line weight of the shape evokes a feeling of raveling and unraveling.

Auberbach is known for her abstract style to explores lingistics, symmetry, and math. She works with various mediums, including painting, weaving, and sculpting. Check some more of her work here.
