3D in Graphic Design

NASA X BBC | Unnatural World

From our class discussion on the design trends for 2020, I found it quite interesting how 3D objects can be incorporated into graphic design. The image above was part of a concept art between NASA and BBC news which utilized 3D objects for magazine covers. Here, the idea of an astronaut being stuck in a sphere around an empty void makes me think of the contained area in an spacecraft. Another artist named Fernando Domínguez Cózar used 3D objects (abstract forms) with still images to create the opening titles for the Jaume Balagueró´s new film “Muse”. His use of the vein/tree branch shapes gave me a sense of agony and mystery which was exciting to watch.
