Inside Information: Cross-Sections of Retro Technology Reveal Historical Moments of Iconic Objects

This piece creates posters exploring the internal workings of some of our most iconic devices (e.g. amplifiers, speakers, and computers) and interspersing them with some of the most important moments to come out of those devices (e.g. concerts, sports, and other innovations). I really love the way minimal color is used in each poster – only one solid color is used in an otherwise black and white frame, and it makes the image pop. In addition, a big theme in this piece is creating a slice of history through these cross-sections. Through the hundreds of human figures forever frozen in their activity, and with the retro device in question cut in half, it makes the viewer really think about the endless possibilities that can come out of a single object.
