As we introduced the animated poster design project, we talked a lot about PSA and examples of these we have seen before and how social media has been used to distribute and spread designs or posters and PSA announcements. The discussion reminded me of this piece that I found out about first through people’s Instagram stories. I find this piece very significant and looking at it makes me worrisome and scared about the future — the design adds to how pressing the issue of climate change is. The climate clock counts down how long it will take — at current rates of emissions — to burn through our ‘carbon budget’ (the amount of CO2 that can still be released into the atmosphere while limiting global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels).
