We: A Shape-Shifting Animation Explores Connection and Constraint

I really loved this animated piece by Rita Louro and Martina Stiftinger. Titled “We”, it is not only extremely visually appealing – the full animation in the below article is mesmerizing – but it also alludes to interpersonal connections and dynamic social norms and constraints. This is mirrored in the way different forms constantly meet, adapt, and reconfigure. I was struck by the variety of materials and color palette used in the piece, and by the way different forms seemed to seamlessly mold together. It reminded me of visual ASMR in many ways!
