Still Life Portraits with a Modern Day Message

In looking into modern-day still life portraits for inspiration on project 3.1, I came across the work of Richard Kuiper. While his works draw inspiration from classic still life artists, the items he chooses in his photography are all made of plastic – water bottles, floral arrangements, even the feathers pictures here are all made of this everlasting material. The artist tries to draw our attention towards the excessive use of plastic in our everyday lives, with the hope we will be able to decrease it.
